Chris Hadley
Chris Hadley is originally from Waterloo and received his music degree in saxophone and piano at Wartburg College and his Music Education license at the University of Northern Iowa. Chris was a grade 5-12 band and instrumental music director for 11 years; most recently at St. Mary's International School in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to Decorah in 2018 where he is the director of the Nordic Dancer Orchestra, is on the directing team for Decorah’s high school drama department, is the collaborative pianist for the Luren Singing Society and for Luther College juries and seminars, and is an educational representative for West Music. Aside from music, Chris holds a Private Pilot License and has been a certified E.M.T., loves boating, playing bar trivia with friends, and traveling (he’s planning on making it to his 6th continent in December when he and 2 friends will attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro in East Africa).
Dyan Meyer
Dyan Meyer holds a B.A. in Music Education and Music Performance (piano) from Graceland University and a Master’s degree in Music Performance with a Choral Conducting emphasis from the Florida State University. She has been teaching at the University of Northern Iowa since 1999 as well as collaborating with many music students in the School of Music at UNI. Meyer also accompanies numerous students in the Cedar Falls school district and at the Iowa High School State Solo/Ensemble Festivals.
In addition to working at UNI, Dyan owns and operates a piano studio out of her home. She thoroughly enjoys teaching students of all ages in the Cedar Falls area. Dyan also has been playing for weddings and funerals for over 25 years.
Prior to graduate school, Meyer was the Assistant Choral Director at Parkway West High School in St. Louis, Missouri, where she conducted four choirs and taught a course in music theory. She also held a one year appointment at Leon County High School in Tallahassee, FL before moving up north to the University of Northern Iowa.
Dyan and her husband Monte currently reside in Cedar Falls and have 5 adult children. In her spare time, Dyan loves to run and play golf.
